Quality Oncology Practice Initiative
More than 230 oncologists in 12 physician organizations across Michigan are participating in the American Society of Clinical Oncology's national initiative to improve care for cancer patients.
Physician groups collect and submit data to a national database, then use the data to change care practices that improve quality and efficiency of care. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan helps defray doctors' collection costs, and rewards participation.
Michigan has the largest number of physicians participating in
ASCO's national oncology database.
