MHA Keystone Center

The Michigan Health and Hospital Association (MHA) Keystone Center for Patient Safety & Quality launched in March 2003 to unite Michigan hospitals in patient safety best practices and to improve care delivered at the bedside and beyond.

Funded by Michigan hospitals, state and federal grants and a significant $6 million donation from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, the MHA Keystone Center has pioneered wide ranging collaborations among hospitals that have created new standards in intensive care units (ICU) and are working to decrease hospital-associated infections.

Funding from the Michigan Blues has helped ensure more than 75 hospitals continue to have the means to dedicate the resources necessary for participation in numerous patient safety improvement collaborations. The funding also has enabled the expansion of the MHA Keystone Center's efforts to launch new collaboratives focused on perinatal safety and emergency room flow and care.

This statewide collaboration among hospitals is improving health care for all Michigan citizens. Learn more about the MHA Keystone Center and its achievements at www.mhakeystonecenter.org
